You can now get a free app a week on Google Play

Yay!

You can now get a free app a week on Google Play
|

Google is now following in Amazon's and Apple's footsteps by offering one free app a week.

Rather bizarrely, there's been no fanfare and if you want to find the free app you have to head into the 'Family' section of the store.

We're not sure if this will remain the case. It could be that the free app of the week promotion will run across a different section of Google Play per week - we'll just have to wait and see.

Right now the free app is Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings - a collection of mini games for children that explores feelings.

To get the app for free, you have to follow the free app of the week link in the family section. If you go on the store page itself, the game is still listed at full price and charges you if you try to purchase it.

This is the first time Google has run a free app promotion so let's just hope it's growing pains. Head on over to Google Play to get the free app of the week right now.
