Google Play hits 25 billion download milestone, holds gigantic 25p / 25c sale to celebrate

In terms of milestones, 25 billion downloads is a pretty big one to celebrate.

Google knows this well, and has announced a huge sale on some of the most popular Android apps to mark the occasion.

The Official Android Blog posted news of the 25 billion download milestone early on Wednesday, and announced the 5-day, 25p / 25c sale later in the same post.

For the next five days, you'll be able to download apps from top developers like Electronic Arts, Rovio, Gameloft, and others for the low price of 25p / 25c.

Make with the list already!

Google will be updating this page with new apps included in the sale. As today is the first day of the event, the selection is not overwhelming (yet!) but the savings certainly are.

Titles currently on sale include:

If you're an Android gamer, or think you might be but found the prices of games to be prohibitive, you'll want to be sure to check in on this sale over the next five days.

In addition to games, Google included productivity apps like OfficeSuite Pro 6+ and Tasks in the sale as well.
