Godville Games has dropped us a line to reveal that its bizarre self-titled ZPG (zero-player game) Godville has emerged blinking onto the Android Market.

What is a zero player game, you (rightfully) ask?

You take on the role of an illusive deity who’s worshipped by a brave young hero. Said brave hero walks off, gets into scrapes with local wildlife, and generally does the whole ‘hero’ thing while you’re at your desk/workplace in real life doing far less exciting things.

Helpfully, the little guy keeps a diary of all his thoughts and activities, letting his god (that’s you) know about everything he’s been up to since you last checked the app.

But the hero’s belief in his deity isn’t based on just pure faith. You can punish or reward him for his activities, helping him to level up and become an ambassador of your benevolence. Or reach level ten - your call.

It’s an odd game that parodies the RPG genre as well as tipping its hat to classics of the past, so if you’re in the mood for something a little left-field this Monday afternoon, you can download the game for free from the Android Market using this link.
