We rather enjoyed Group Pug's Silver Award-winning Bras and Balls last year. So I was intrigued to see what the studio's take on the incremental RPG was with God Squad.

As with its peers in the genre, God Squad is rather tap-heavy. The idea is to help deities defend Omega Island, their home, from those attacking it.

There are endless streams of enemies to defeat in each region. You do so by tapping on them to issue damage. I got an achievement for tapping 100 times in the first 20 seconds.

For each enemy defeated you earn coins. These can be used to upgrade your deities and to unlock more of them. They're a mix of Greek and Egyptian gods including Horus, Ares, and Artemis.

Each deity has a unique power that can be used every few minutes or so. It might be invincibility for 10 seconds or reducing enemy health for 35 seconds.

What makes it stand out a little is the studio's personality. The cartoon art work is back in endearing form and there's plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour in character descriptions (Aphrodite is the "Bae of Baes").

As it's completely free and there seem to be no adverts or IAPs you may want to consider checking God Squad out. It's a decent time-sinker.

You can download it on Google Play right now.
