Gameloft retcons Android DRM policy
|

Remember last week when we told you that "if your Gameloft game leaves your Android for any reason, it'll never get back on unless you cough up and pay again"?

Well, it seems as if Gameloft has buckled under the pressure of public outrage, and has completely changed its policy.

The original story's tipster, Dave Loft, received an email from the mobile developer describing the changes. Soon, Android HD+ games sold through Gameloft's store will "allow you to re-download a game that you paid for."

"Unfortunately this change will take a bit of time but rest assured we will announce once it is live."

Previously, 'Droid games purchased through Gameloft's website, such as N.O.V.A. and Hero of Sparta, came with an extremely strict DRM policy that meant you'd have to repurchase a game if you lost your phone or wiped its memory.

Now, Gameloft is changing it with a little leniency in mind. Hooray.
