Gameloft announces 10 top 3D games for Android
Including N.O.V.A. and Dungeon Hunter
Gameloft has announced the launch of ten of its high profile 3D games onto Android. The full list runs as follows:
Asphalt 5, Let’s Golf!, Assassin’s Creed, Hero of Sparta, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Dungeon Hunter, Real Football 2010, N.O.V.A. Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.
Each game has been optimised for high-end Android handsets. Gameloft has specified the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone, Motorola Motoroi and Google Nexus One as compatible devices.
All have been released previously on iPhone, with N.O.V.A. and Dungeon Hunter particularly noteworthy for having received Pocket Gamer Gold Awards.
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X and Asphalt 5 - both Pocket Gamer Silver Award winners on iPhone - make use of each Android handset's accelerometer facility to guide the relevant craft.
“Our goal has always been to offer the best gaming experience for each device,” says Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president, publishing, Gameloft. “With the arrival of smartphones that allow the creation of high quality games, we are excited to bring consumers a unique line up of diverse titles combining rich 3D graphics and intense gameplay.”
None of the games are available through the Android Market, but can be obtained directly from Gameloft via their website and wap site.
