The paid version of the Android Market is tettering on the edge on release - US owners of the T-Mobile G1 will soon be able to enjoy a 'phased rollout of priced applications' - apparently.

That's been enough for Gameloft to announce its cash till is primed and ready to go. Games - technically Gameloft describes these as a "new wave of mega-games with superior graphics and gameplay capabilities" - mentioned are CSI: Miami, The Oregon Trail and Derek Jeter Pro Baseball 2009 (he's the captain of the New York Yankees dontcha know). Plus those other 17...

However we will let it off as it also nicely mentions Gameloft had the best rated games in the most recent Pocketgamer.biz Quality Index.

"With digital distribution being the platform of the future, Android Market continues the momentum by providing new channels for consumers to find, buy and download games," said Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president, publishing, Gameloft.
