PlayJam's Android-powered Ouya rival the GameStick will support the XBMC platform.

Originally created as a media hub for the Xbox, XBMC eventually wound up as an open-source software media player, compatible with Windows, OSX, and Linux.

Soon, the software's creator Pivos Technology will be able to add the GameStick to the list of XBMC compatible platforms.

According to Jasper Smith, CEO of PlayJam, "Working with Pivos and the XBMC community to integrate a world class media center into GameStick is a major step forward in our ambitions."

Smith believes that combining integrated media management with a proven games platform like Android is "very much the Holy Grail" for PlayJam.

The second high profile Android micro console to hit big on crowdfunding site after Ouya, GameStick made headlines when it exceeded its $100,000 Kickstarter goal to the tune of $647,658.
