Best new iOS and Android games of the week: Onirim, Transformers: Forged to Fight, MouseBot and more
Robots, rodents, and roly-polies
Welcome to another of our regular looks at the best mobile games of the past seven days.
Every week we run through the best and most interesting games to have hit the App Store and Google Play Store.
To be honest, it hasn't exactly been a classic week for mobile games. Far from it, in fact. But that's not to say that there isn't fun to be had.
Have you been playing anything different this week? Let us know in the comments below.
OnirimBy Asmodee Digital - buy on iOS / buy on Android
Asmodee has a pretty excellent record of bringing well-regarded modern boardgames to mobile. Onirim is no excepetion, providing a twist on the solitaire card game that's just perfect on your phone.
Transformers: Forged to FightBy Kabam - download on iOS/download on Android
This is basically Marvel Contest of Champions with a Transformers reskin, plus some extra 3D elements (you can side-step projectiles). Which essentially means it's a very slick, playable one-on-one beat-'em-up full of carefully calibrated freemium mechanisms.
MouseBot
By Vector Unit - buy on iOS
MouseBot is from the team behind the Riptide and Beach Buggy series, so you'd expect it to be pretty rad looking. It's certainly that, but it's no racer. Rather, it's a 3D platformer of sorts, as you guide a mechanical rodent through a series of hazards.
By Spunge Games - buy on iOS
It's neither big nor particularly clever, but Faily Tumbler gets onto this list through a combination of it being a quiet week and a nicely chaotic ragdoll twist on the endless runner genre.
AfterpulseBy Gamevil - download on Android
If you can forgive the years it's taken to come over from iOS, Afterpulse remains a technically stunning online shooter that genuinely works well on mobile.
