Rumour: Samsung Galaxy S III unveiled early in Vietnamese video

The big Samsung Galaxy S III unveiling may be just two weeks away, but it appears as though some lucky folks have already got their mitts on Sammy's newest smartphone.

Vietnamese tech site Tinhte - a site well known for 'obtaining' prototype devices - has posted a video which claims to show the Samsung Galaxy S III in action.

The unit on display is referred to as the GT-i9300 (which tallies up with Samsung's handset naming policy), and features many of the components predicted to appear in the hotly anticipated smartphone.

Under the hood

Although the casing has been covered beneath a nondescript plastic shell - apparently attached to preserve the launch-day surprise - the spec lists displayed in the video reveal a Galaxy S III with a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, a 4.6-inch 1184x720 display, 1GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel camera.

When asked to confirm the authenticity of this video (which has since been pulled from Tinhte), Samsung unsurprisingly told Engadget: "We will be able to tell you more at the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked".

Which, incidentally, just happens to be the official name for Samsung's May 3rd "Come and meet the next Galaxy" event. Make of that what you will.
