While there are some things in life that seem made for each other – tuna and sweetcorn, rock and roll, pen and paper – you’d be forgiven for thinking that golfing, puzzles, and monster bosses wouldn’t stand a chance.

Released earlier this September on Android, GWARP is the off-the-wall indie title from developers Sinkhole that disproved this theory instantly. Don’t believe us? Here are 5 reasons why!

Monsters and Danger Bosses

Unlike the courses you see in more conventional golf games, those featured in GWARP find themselves flooded with monsters determined to make your time difficult. Thankfully, all can be struck with the same ferocity and viciousness as the golf balls themselves, being players’ best bet at sinking their put in the speediest time possible.

Or, if you don’t feel like having a good ol' battle with the beasts, you can choose to get out from their attack range and they won’t be able to hurt you.

40+ stages and additional challenge modes

Variety is the spice of life and the same can be said for GWARP’s 40+ stages. This is largely because ten of each all centre on a specific theme, with some placing players within the ashy redness of our solar system’s red planet and others on a sun-drenched tropical island. All each present their own unique visuals and challenges, sure to keep those willing to tee-up on their toes.

As if that wasn’t enough, any GWARP golfing professionals will find their skills tested in many of the game’s various challenge modes. All present a familiar map with their own unique and unexpected twist, adding in more monsters, new obstacles, and possibly limited time restraints.

Golf clubs with unique skills

A good golfer is only as good as their club. That’s why GWARP lets players get to grips with a variety of golf club options, each featuring their own unique abilities that could make or break your success on the green. Some are more useful hitting balls, while others deal greater damage against monsters.

Special attachments further gives players the means to adjust tools to their playstyle, affecting such factors as maximum distance, damage, loft angle, oxygen cost and more.

Dedicated GWARP league

Fancy taking your golf-swinging action against other people? GWARP features a dedicated intergalactic golf league where players can duke it out online. It’s here where you’ll be able to hone your long and short-game skills, paired up with those of equal ability thanks to GWARP’s match-making system.
Five tiers make up the wider GWARP League, and the higher level the players are that take part, the bigger rewards they can get as they finish. Only online are such rare golfing goodies available.
Customisable golf characters

While GWARP features six individual characters, each with their own skillsets and stories to experience, the game still allows players to make their own mark thanks to the many customisation options. Simply pick a golfer, grab a club, then mix and match your avatar to your exact liking, swapping out specific golf bags and costumes.
