It's that time again! Time for another entry into our long-running GAMES OF THE WEEK series.
If you're looking for the best five games which have hit the iPhone, iPad and/or Android stores this week then you've landed yourself at the exact right place at just the right time. Lucky, lucky you.
With this article, we've skirted around the droves of subscription services (Apple Arcade, Google Play Pass, GameClub, Hatch, and all of their friends) which have launched onto mobile platforms over the years. We also don't factor in things like Steam Link, Xbox Game Pass or Google Stadia which allow streaming to handheld devices. And, of course, let's not talk about in-house streaming, things like Remote Play.
What that means is that our list is a finely curated list of brilliant, fresh titles which you can download and play without subscribing to, or installing, any third-party initiative. Instead, you just grab them from the appropriate app store and off you go. Of course, there are some absolutely fantastic games on those services, but, let's focus on the stuff that you can grab right now.
From a platformer which, simply, has you take on the role of a rad radish dad to a fantastic multiplayer martial-arts jaunt, we've got something for everyone this week. You'll have to read on to find out which though.

Dadish 2
I really, really enjoyed the original Dadish game when it released in early 2020, to be honest, it feels like almost a lifetime ago, but it's hard to shake the chipper, cheerful platformer from my mind. Dadish 2 builds on the successes of the first, even if you do still have the same task at hand: finding your missing children.
That said, there's much more variety in the levels now, from swamp to outer space, and at the price of free, what's stopping you?

Cookie Run: Kingdom
Cookie Run: Kingdom is not just incredibly cute looking, but it's also a really solid empire-building game. You are challenged to arrange a squad of cookie-characters to fight your way through droves of foes, defeat the evil witch and save the kingdoms.

Questkeep
I've been playing Questkeep for the last couple of hours now and it's fantastic. It captures the simple tile-based nature of a roguelike game, but with a shifting-tile effect mechanic in it. This means that you can't plan too far ahead at any point of time - something similar to Morphblade or Michael Brough's Imbroglio, albeit the tiles do not define your next actions, instead shifting your path by filling it with enemies and obstacles.

Clan N
Brawler meets action game meets arcade, and all as multiplayer; Clan N is a real gem which has just snuck its way onto both mobile platforms. If you've been looking for an arcade martial-arts experience where you can smash your way through boss fights, narrowly dodge out of the way of rolling boulders and more then you don't really need to look any further.
Oh, and that multiplayer element? It's co-op, and right at the perfect time to create such a well-realised co-op game!
Note: Clan N launched with some issues and so was recalled, but should be live again shortly.

Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up
It's Wallace and Gromit, wonderful. The stalward stop-animation institution is back on mobile gain, albeit this time as an augmented reality story. It's full of puns, fun and, well some AR stuff now as well. It's a very cool idea, and it's always great to see AR getting in more games, and maybe having another big name bolted onto the AR flag will help it continue to find its way not just into the average mobile player's home, but also their heart.
