Fortnite introduces new usable items and map making tools alongside much more in the latest update

Legendary battle royale Fortnite has announced its next update for version 24.10, which includes a brand new vehicle, new items for use in-game, and much more. Given how constant updates for this game are, it’s no surprise to see a bunch of new content make its way to the game, but this patch in particular is quite exciting due to the new addition of usable items specifically.

Fortnite is a game that needs no introduction, regardless of your status as a gamer. If you barely touch games on a daily basis, you have surely heard of this one, as it is a global giant and has not yet been ousted as one of the most legendary battle royale games of all time. From collaborations with anime series to large-scale movie companies, Fortnite truly has it all.

One of the biggest additions with this update is the Channel Device, which will be useful for those creating fun new creative maps themselves. This device allows you to receive signals and transmit them, basically meaning you link devices up to it, which can then have the effects of said devices sent through this one to others. It's a bit complicated, but a useful tool for map makers.

We’ve also got a brand new vehicle, the Nitro Drifter, which is a 4-player sports car adorned in an awesome paint job that is sure to catch the eye of whomever you’re chasing down. In terms of usable items, the new spring chickens that will spawn across the map will drop Heal Eggs and Hop Eggs, one of which will heal up some of your HP while the other will apply a low-gravity effect, allowing you to jump higher than usual.

This update might seem small on the surface, but with a new great addition to a map maker’s arsenal and useful consumable items, it’ll certainly shake things up a bit, and those are only the highlights! If you’d like to give it a go yourself, you can download Fortnite for free at the official website! In the meantime, check out the full patch notes while you're there too!
