How to download Fortnite on Android without the Google Play Store

Fortnite has been removed from the App Store and Google Play Store. This will come as a mild shock for mobile Fortnite fans that haven't been following last night's drama between Epic Games and Apple.

We won't go over the details here, all you need to know is that you can't download the game from either of the aforementioned stores either now, or in the foreseeable future. How long this will go on for is hard to say, but it doesn't mean you have to go without Fortnite on mobile.

If you're just looking for a quick portable Fortnite fix you can always look to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, but if you want it on your Android device more than anything, we have the information you need.

Just take a look below for the essential information on download Fortnite on Android without using the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, we don't have a similar method for iOS…

Epic Games app

The Epic Games app is the best choice for this. Again, you won't find it on the Google Play Store, but you will be able to find it online.

Click this link for simplicity, and download the Epic Games app, and then inside that app you'll be able to download Fortnite and play without any issues.

Just log in using your regular Epic Games account, and you're all set to enjoy the game. Just remember to prepare for that big initial download…

Samsung app

This is another perfectly good choice, though it's exclusive to users of Samsung devices. Samsung has its own app marketplace pre-installed on their devices, and you'll be able to download Fortnite from here with ease.

If you already have a Samsung device, this is a much easier option than downloading the Epic Games app and having a third marketplace on your device.

This will also have a huge initial download - I mean, it is the same game - and it'll work just as you expect. You'll almost ask yourself why you ever needed the Google Play Store in the first place.

Other apps?

There are other apps and marketplaces to consider, but they all come with their own caveats.

You can absolutely find the latest Fortnite .apk online and install that, but as ever with downloading files from random sources, you can't guarantee their integrity.

Ultimately, this option should only be used if you already have another third-party app aggregate that you trust, and you can check those marketplaces for Fortnite. Otherwise, you should go use the Epic Games app.
