"A game made in a weekend topped the most expensive one in history", says Google.

The search giant isn't talking about profit or critical reaction, but search traffic. And in 2014, people were way more interested in Flappy Bird than Bungie's $500 million opus, Destiny.

"At its peak, the search trend for Flappy Bird was more than double that of Destiny", says the Big G. Bungie's game actually took fourth place, with Threes! knock-off 2048 in second and FIFA 15 in third.

Flappy Bird came out in late 2013, but searches on Google surged in February when the game was pulled from the App Store.

Also of note: mobile games were the most searched video game format of last year, but our precious apps were less popular than card games. Next year, solitaire. Next year…
