MMO Final Fantasy XI Mobile reboot shown, made on Epic's Unreal Engine 4

We've known for a while that a mobile version of popular MMO Final Fantasy XI was coming but today is our first look at it.

In a conference in Korea, Nexon has confirmed that it's now a "reboot" of Final Fantasy XI built from the ground up for mobile and the development team is now using Epic's Unreal Engine 4.

Final Fantasy XI was the first MMO in the franchise and is still running to this day.

Not much is known for now but it seems that the UI is still far from finished so don't expect a release any time soon. We still don't know if it'll be released outside of Asia as well.

On top of this, this version is said to incorporate new tools that prevent the player from being disconnected as mobile network can fluctuate.

This seems a tall challenge for a mobile device and now even more so seeing that it's built on the gorgeous Unreal Engine 4.

Let's hope it will come west.
