Final Fantasy Portal app arrives in the west on iOS and Android this summer

Final Fantasy VII's forthcoming arrival on iOS wasn't the only Final Fantasy-related mobile news that Square Enix had during its E3 press conference.

The company also revealed that its Final Fantasy Portal app will be available in the west on iOS and Android this summer.

Final Fantasy Portal app has been available in Japan for a number of months now. It's essentially a one-stop shop for all your Final Fantasy news.

It also has the Final Fantasy VIII mini-game Triple Triad built inside of it. And if you link up your Square Enix ID with the app you can earn points by playing it.

You should be able to download the app for free but it does have in-app purchases. This is tied in with that points system as you can spend the points you earn on digital content.
Final Fantasy Portal app

We don't have a precise release date for the Final Fantasy Portal app yet. However, consider that it lets you swap cards from its version of Triple Triad with Final Fantasy XIV's version of the mini-game.

This might mean Final Fantasy Portal app comes out soon after the first Final Fantasy XIV expansion (FF XIV: Heavensword) hits the west on June 23rd - makes it easier to market then, right?

Whatever the case, we'll let you know whenever we hear more about Final Fantasy Portal app's English version.
