Now you can turn your smartphone into Fallout 4's Pip-Boy (sorta)

Bethesda has released the official Fallout Pip-Boy app on iOS and Android.

It's meant to be used as a companion app while you play Fallout 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. But, err, the game isn't out until next week.

What you can do with it, for now, is check out an inventory and stats screen, as well as a map of the wasteland - it's not marked except for Vault 111.

You can also play a Missile Command-like mini-game called "Atomic Command."

These features should expand once Fallout 4 is out and will then interact with your version of the game.

Fallout Pip-Boy

If you bought the Pip-Boy Edition of the game you'll be getting a device that you can strap to your arm once the game does arrive.

You can then put your smartphone into this and, with this app, have it working like an action Pip-Boy. Pretty neat, huh?

If you want it now or later, Fallout Pip-Boy is available to download on the App Store and Google Play.
