If you're an iOS and Android player, as well as a sucker for puzzle-RPGs then Ernesto RPG is a treat just for you.

Daniel Benmergui has announced that he's putting his promising and innovative three year project, Storyteller, on hold.

The reason? He's taking some time away from his big project to work on a smaller side project called Ernesto RPG.

Ernesto RPG is a procedurally generated grid-based puzzle-RPG that was initially made in just a week.

Play starts by selecting a starting point on the grid and then moving along adjacent tiles towards an exit. Along the way you collect treasures, dodge traps, restore health, and battle enemies to level up before reaching the dungeon god on the fourth dungeon.

The original prototype can still be played on Kongregate for free.

Mind the traps

Benmergui's plan is to remake Ernesto RPG into a "much better, longer and meatier version".

In accordance with this, Benmergui has teamed up with musician Hernán Rozenwasser, and visual artist Jeremías Babini, for this remake.

Benmergui told IndieGames.com that once it's done, Ernest RPG will be coming to Windows and Mac, "but iOS and Android tablets are a must."

The prototype is a lot of fun for just a couple of minutes, or hours at a time, so we'll be looking out for Ernesto RPG on our mobiles. You can also keep up with the game's development here.
