If you enjoyed Game Dev Story, but are more concerned with galactic diplomacy than meeting the deadline for your latest fantasy side-scroller "Battle Ninjas vs Dracula in Robo-Barbarian Hell", then look no further.

Kairosoft's latest addition to its 'Story' series, entitled Epic Astro Story, is an interplanetary affair designed to give you god-like control over an uncultivated planet.

It's up to you to turn your barren space rock into the world of tomorrow, building your civilisation little by little until you have created the most desirable tourist hotspot in the cosmos.

Intergalactic planetary

Besides the usual sim-style gameplay associated with the series, Epic Astro Story lets you take a party out to investigate the planet on foot. Creature encounters will yield rewards, encouraging exploration and lending the game an RPG flavour.

Epic Astro Story shares more than just a word with its predecessors - the attractive retro graphics we've come to expect from the series are also present and correct.

Give the dangerously addictive nature of Kairosoft's previous sim titles, you can expect Epic Astro Story to consume you like a black hole swallowing light.

Epic Astro Story is available now for £2.99 / $4.99 (download).
