E3 2018 - The Elder Scrolls is headed back to mobile with the stunning RPG 'Blades'

We knew we'd be seeing some crazy announcements from E3 this year and Bethesda's wasted no time in giving mobile gamers something to be excited about.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades is an upcoming RPG with console-quality graphics which gives you multiple different ways to play. As opposed to the usual button-bashing or auto-style combat we're used to on mobile, this gives you the chance to switch things up. From the familiar tap to an almighty swipe, there's plenty to get to grips with here.

There are three modes, Abyss, Arena, and Town. Abyss is a roguelike experience where you see how far you can make it in a dungeon, Arena is where you'll fight other players, and Town is the game's main mode for story and quest. After returning home to your home you find your town destroyed. It's up to you to rebuild it.

Offering up both hand-crafted and procedurally generated dungeons, you get to choose what combat style you want to use - between mele, ranged, and magic - and can customise and upgrade your character. Interestingly, you can play the whole game in portrait mode if that's how you want to roll.

There's a lot of ambition in Blades and I do wonder what the minimum device requirement is going to be, but if it plays as silky smooth as the presentation made it look it's an RPG I'll definitely be diving into.

You can pre-register for it right now on the official website, or on Google Play.
