Drift Spirits is for those who want their Japanese drifting game without the dating sim part

Bandai Namco has launched its popular Japanese racing game Drift Spirits worldwide for Android. It'll be coming to iOS as well at a later date.

Drift Spirits has been available to download in Japanese app stores since November 2013 and has accumulated over five million downloads since.

But only today has it been available elsewhere in the world. It focuses on 30-second long drift races in which you tap to manage your acceleration.

It's similar to Drift Girls then, which is also heading to the west soon after being released in Korea. Except Drift Spirits doesn't have any of the dating sim parts that that game does. The focus here is purely on the cars.

Oh, and this being a Japanese game, the cars are mostly of Japanese origin too. There are over 40 to choose from and customise with the parts that you earn in-game.

If you fancy giving it a go, Drift Spirits is available to download for free on Google Play right now. It does offer IAPs.
