Dragon Quest of the Stars heads to the West in early 2020 for iOS and Android after tremendous success in Japan

Dragon Quest of the Stars has proven to be a pretty big hit over in Japan where it's seen more than 20 million downloads. Given that success, Square Enix has decided it's probably a good idea to bring it over to the West in early 2020 for iOS and Android.

Dragon Quest of the Stars will see players create their own custom character as well as two companions before setting off on an intergalactic journey to prevent the destruction of other planets. It's certainly some high stakes stuff then.

You'll come across various monsters from throughout the history of the Dragon Quest series where you'll defeat them by strategically activating the various abilities that you'll have at your disposal. To add a bit more strategy you'll also have to gear up before heading into the fight by choosing four items and one food item.

There will also be a number of multiplayer modes for those who like playing games with their friends. They'll be able to team up with 3 other players and embark on an intergalactic adventure together. If you're teaming up with random players you'll be able to communicate through the game's own emote system.

There will also be a closed beta on offer for Android users that will take place from 30th October to 11th November. You can sign up for that now through the official site. Though you may be unable to if you aren't in the correct region. Which regions this will be available in haven't been specified just yet.

Dragon Quest of the Stars will be available in early 2020. It will be available on the App Store and Google Play, the latter of which you may be able to pre-register for now depending on your region. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
