Square Enix confirms Dragon Quest VII is on its way to iOS and Android

Square Enix has announced that PSOne classic Dragon Quest VII is heading to iOS and Android in Japan.

It'll be showcased as part of the company's Tokyo Game Show line-up between September 17th and 20th.

All that is currently known about the smartphone version of Dragon Quest VII is that it'll be based on the 3DS remake.

But don't get too excited just yet as the 3DS remake hasn't actually been released in the west still. Hence, we have to say that there's no guarantee that this smartphone version will head this way either.

However, earlier this year at Japan Expo, there were rumours that Yuji Horii, the creator of the RPG series, spoke about an incoming English version of Dragon Quest VII.

Could it be that Horii was referring to the smartphone version rather than an English version of the game for 3DS? Perhaps.

For now, we'll just have to hope that Square Enix plans on bringing the iOS and Android version of Dragon Quest VII to the west. Fingers crossed.
