Japan has a Dragon Quest-themed restaurant that gives you in-game items for buying meals

How would you like to go to a restaurant that gives you in-game items in exchange for purchasing meals? No matter your answer, that is a real thing that you can do in Japan starting tomorrow.

The explanation stems from Square Enix's launch of the casual RPG Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light in Japan for iOS and Android.

In conjunction with that, Japanese restaurant chain TBI is opening the Dragon Quest Super Light Cafe in Tokyo's Shibuya restaurant on April 28th at 4pm.

Inside, you can purchase a range of dishes that are based on monsters and characters from the game. That includes a Metal Slime Risotto, a Egudorashiru Salad, and drinks such as the Psaro the Manslayer Kahlua & Milk.

Buying these meals can earn you items that can be used in-game such as gold, keys, maps, and monster eggs.

Maybe this is the future of micro-transactions. It's often said that Japan leads the way in, well, mostly everything. How do you fancy free Gold with your cappuccino?

You can download Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light for free on the App Store and Google Play.
