Bandai Namco could probably get away with just working on Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle for decades to come, but it's taking another crack at the spiky-haired anime boys with Dragon Ball Legends.

It's a one-on-one fighting game, where players switch between one of three Dragon Ball characters in battle and use a deck of cards to trigger certain attacks and moves to knock seven balls of hell out of each other.

The main draw of the game is its global PvP functionality – you can be stood in San Francisco, for example, while fighting against someone in Tokyo. Which is exactly what happened when the game was shown off at GDC, and it looked surprisingly smooth.

Check out out full hands-on preview now that we've had the chance to play it ourselves!

We can’t say for sure, but you can basically guarantee that there'll be plenty of characters to earn and fight with, and a bunch of locations from the universe to battle it out in.

There wasn't much to show at the initial announcement – except that matches last around a couple of minutes, and there's some sweet cutscenes when you launch a special move – but read our preview to find out more about how it plays.
