It's a well-kept secret that most shapes aren't happy with their current form.

In Division Cell, then, it's your job to make rectangles into squares, and rhombuses into triangles.

How you do that is easy. In each tessellated level of this puzzle game, you are presented with a bunch of shapes that are interconnected. If you tap the sides that have small circles on them, the shapes shift in that direction as one unit.

Just like Tetris, Division Cell is a game about balance and equality. You're constantly trying to transform every rhombus or rectangle into the same shape and size to complete the level.

It may sound a little dull, but it's far from it. For one thing, the presentation is very slick. Plus, each time you touch the screen you cause objects to bounce a little. It's strangely satisfying.

There's also a very serene soundscape here that perfectly mirrors the relaxing tone of the game.

If you're a fan of smart but accessible puzzles and you want a game you can turn to every time you have a spare minute, Division Cell might be worth a purchase.

Speaking of which, you can grab it right now on the App Store [buy] for £1.49 / $1.99, and Google Play [buy] for £1.15.
