EA might be hogging all the console headlines after securing the exclusive rights to develop "core" Star Wars games, but Disney is keeping a tight hold on the mobile gaming reins to George Lucas's sci-fi universe.

That's according to our sister site PocketGamer.biz, which is reporting that Disney will remain in control of "mobile, social, tablet and online games", while EA will handle titles "spanning all interactive platforms and the most popular game genres".

EA has confirmed that DICE, Visceral, and BioWare will all be working on Star Wars games, although what those games will turn out to be is anyone's guess right now.

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans."

Disney Interactive Studios has already enjoyed plenty of success in the mobile realm, both with original IP like Where's My Water? and movie spin-off titles like Toy Story: Smash It!.
