At first glance Disney Bola Football appears to be a nifty little take on soccer. The characters are all drawn in an angular, cartoony style that calls to mind Disney Infinity, and it runs pretty smoothly too.

Unfortunately, terrible controls make the game almost unplayable.

You've got the touch

Each match in Disney Bola Football is meant to be quick. Win or lose they're usually over before you know it.

Seriously, the timer is so small it's incredibly difficult to keep track of how much time is left. After two minute-long halves it's all over and a winner is declared.

Winning a match will reward your players with experience, and once they've earned enough to gain a level their skills will improve.

If you're working your way through the single-player tournament, you'll also move on to the next round against a new opponent.

Losing a match isn't much of a setback, however. You just lose a bit of energy and have to try again.

You've got no power

It all goes horribly, horribly wrong right out of the gate, though. I can't say for certain that Disney Bola Football features the worst controls in a mobile game, but they're certainly the worst in recent memory.

In theory the whole "swipe to move, tap to pass/tackle" concept should work just fine. In practice it's a complete mess.

Players run the wrong way constantly, won't tackle when they're told to, and often just stand around doing nothing while a player from the opposing team trots right past them.

In all honesty, even if the controls weren't abysmal, there's not that much of a game here anyway.

Disney Bola Football might be good for a laugh or two, but I can't think of a good reason to stick with it. Other football games are out there, and they do a much better job of staying out of their own way.

Disney Bola Football

Disney Bola Football looks like a decent, cartoony game of football. It’s definitely cartoony
