It's been a while since we had a new game from King and today it looks like we've got a new IP to enjoy. Diamond Diaries Saga is out now free to play on the App Store and Google Play.

You'll probably know King from the ever-engaging Candy Crush Saga, and fans of the company's usual games will find a lot to love here. In Diamond Diaries you play as Lucy, a jewellery craftsman who's tasked to discover all sorts of hidden gems.

In it, you have to get the diamond to the necklace by clearing a path in the charms. Since it's a physics-based puzzler, the diamond will roll on down the line. You'll also have other game modes to play around with, including 'Open the dolls', 'Open the jewellery box', and 'Open the bottles'.

According to the press release, there are also a host of new features like missions, mystery chests, and "the ability to move power rays, a special charm that will destroy all the charms in the path of the ray."

I expect the overall gist of the game won't stray too far from what we're familiar with, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sure, if you're not a fan of King's other IPs you'll likely not be digging into this one, but - hey - it's free to play and will probably be just as fun as the others, so give it a go.
