Phoenix Wright-inspired Devil's Attorney heading to iPhone and iPad

1337 Game Design, the developer behind Dark Nebula, has turned to the world of 80's glam-justice for its latest game: Devil's Attorney.

The game challenges you to get your clients off the hook by whatever means. And some of these means may not be entirely legal.

But while hero Max McMann is a charming defence lawyer with an arsenal of courtroom tricks up his sleeve, I don't think Phoenix Wright will have to take legal action.

Instead of a text-heavy adventure, the courtroom battles in Devil's Attorney take the form of turn-based strategy brawls. You spend McMann's action points on interrogation and analysis (or something more underhanded) before letting the prosecution return fire.

Winning cases earns cash which can be spent on improving Max's apartment, which in turn bumps up his skills and abilities to the point where you can exonerate Mafia bosses with nothing more than a charmingly raised eyebrow. Presumably.

There looks to be plenty of character here as well, from the colourful 80's setting to the courtroom banter. Devil's Attorney is out on October 11th for iOS and Android.

We introduce the game's trailer into evidence, m'lud.
