Deus Ex: The Fall will sneak onto Google Play next month

In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it note on a blog post on Deus Ex: The Fall's official site, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix have confirmed that the Android version of Deus Ex: The Fall will be surfacing on the Google Play Store in September.

The futuristic shooter has been out on iOS for nearly a month, and has been garnering plenty of acclaim for the stealthy blend of shooting and techno-babble.

At review, we gave Deus Ex: The Fall a Silver Award, calling it an "ambitious, flawed, but ultimately entertaining FPS".

It'll be interesting to see whether Squeenix puts some new anti-piracy countermeasures into the Android version of the game, similar to the one that meant users with jailbroken iOS devices couldn't fire guns in the game.

While that hindrance was eventually removed, piracy is a lot more common on Android, so it wouldn't surprise us to see Square Enix employ a similar anti-piracy method again.

We've no word yet on an exact release date for Deus Ex: The Fall on Android or how much it's going to cost. We will, however, let you know as soon as we hear anything. Promise.
