If you're a console gamer, you'll no doubt recall the intriguing release of Dead Island - an icky survival horror-cum-adventure game that provoked a fair amount of attention for its striking back-to-front promo video.

The game itself wasn't quite so slick, and received only middling reviews, but that didn't seem to stop it from selling like hot cakes. Zombies are 'in', don't you know.

As well as working on a recently confirmed console sequel, Dead Island: Riptide, it appears as if Dead Island developer Techland will be showing some love soon to mobile platforms. Apparently, the Poland-based studio has filed a trademark application for a game called Dead Stop.

So, what makes us think it's a mobile project? Well, in the trademark application for Dead Stop, the following description is given: "providing an online game via an application for mobile phones and other electronic apparatus".

That's it for details, so we don't even know which mobile platform the game is coming to. We can hazard a guess that Apple's wonderphone / tablet will be in there somewhere, though.

Whatever Dead Stop proves to be on mobile, let's hope it's more The Walking Dead: The Game and less Resident Evil Mercenaries VS.
