Dead Plague is unleashed on Android and iOS

Chinese developer GameSpire has released an action-packed zombie shooter for the mobile - and it’s bloody.

You’re airdropped in the tropics on a mission to collect DNA samples of a deadly infection. Of course, this is an infection of the Resident Evil variety, and you’re just one fella in an Indiana Jones outfit. Luckily, your employer BIOCORP saw fit to give you a fighting chance by equipping you with a submachine gun. So begins Dead Plague, a single-player, story-driven romp around paradise during Z Day.

Gameplay is fairly straightforward. You’ve got to complete various timed quests whilst mowing down the undead in your path – and not dying in the process. The controls use the twin stick style, with the left side of the screen controlling movement, and the right side aiming and firing.

Enemies come in the form of your bog standard runner zombie, special zombies like the Left4Dead-style bloater, as well as occasional bosses. There’s an arsenal of different weaponry to deploy against them, including rifles, machine guns, grenades, mines and more. Ammo is finite, but there are regular munitions boxes to top up.

The 3D visuals offer an appealing top-down view of the action, with dynamic weather effects, realistic lighting, vibrant colours and detailed textures.

GameSpire has translated Dead Plague into most major languages, and the whole thing can be downloaded in one and played offline.

So if you want to celebrate Halloween early with your very own pocket zombie apocalypse, you can download Dead Plague from Google Play and the App Store.
