Addictive, smart, and million-selling iOS puzzle beauty Cut the Rope has its heart set on Google’s Android platform for its next home.

The iPhone game has you freeing a dangling sweetie from its ropey shackles, carefully avoiding obstacles and spikes on its way into a green monster’s yawning chasm of a gob. It’s got 100 levels to tackle, with promises of new stages coming soon.

Now, according developer Semyon Voinov of Zeptolab in an interview with AndroidPlanet, the game is jumping ship. “We plan to develop an Android version too, but it's still hard to give a release date," said Voinov.

Whether or not Chillingo, the game’s iPhone publisher, will do the honours isn’t known. Massivly popular physics game Angry Birds ditched Chillingo when it came out on Android last week. It also ditched the price tag, choosing a free ad-supported model instead.

Can’t wait for the ‘droid edition? Cut the Rope is available now on iPhone for 59p / 99c / €0.79c.
