Sony Pictures Television has hooked up with ZeptoLab to produce a live action Cut the Rope game show. Yes, really.

Plus, DigitalSpy reports that the two companies have also signed a deal permitting Sony Pictures Television to get a first look at all future properties developed by ZeptoLab.

"Every hour of every day, app producers are creating new ways to entertain global audiences, with Cut the Rope offering one of the most striking examples," Sony Picture Television's Wayne Garvie says, quite correctly.

"ZeptoLab is a pioneer in bringing innovative, witty and addictive apps to the world," he adds, similarly factually.

Quite how that led them to the idea of producing a gameshow based around a cute physics puzzler, we're not sure. Perhaps ZeptoLab itself can cast a little light on the matter.

"We love the idea of our fans being able to see and engage with Om Nom on the television screen and this partnership with Sony Pictures Television will let fans do just that, bringing Cut the Rope to life in a brand new, interactive way" ZeptoLab CEO Misha Lyalin says.

That makes sense. Now, could someone please explain how this is all going to work, exactly? Your best guesses in the comments below, please.
