Curiosity is coming to an end.

Yesterday, 22Cans announced there were just 50 levels left, which precipitated a gold rush as Johnny-come-lately fly-by-nights latched on to the fact that maybe, just maybe, Peter Molyneux wasn't joking when he said there was something "life-changingly amazing" nestled in the centre of his social-experiment.

The net result is that the number of users actively hacking away at the cube face has more than doubled in the past 24 hours.

That's according to our sister site PocketGamer.biz, which has taken the trouble to represent all of this information in graph form for you. Because nothing says 'facts' like a graph.

According to the team at 22Cans, the cube should last until the middle of the month. Then, the last cubelet will be tapped away and one lucky so-and-so will receive a "life changing" prize.

We speculated on what that prize might be when the tapping started in September, and each day is bringing us closer to finding out how wrong we were.

Whether or not you're a fan of Curiosity's repetitive nature, you can't help but admire the fact that, even now, as the end draws in, people are still talking about Molyneux and the team's little experiment.
