Crying Suns' final update Last Orders is now available, introducing two new factions, special officers and battlefield items

Humble Games has announced that the final update for its tactical rogue-lite Crying Suns is now available. Appropriately named Last Orders, it introduces two new character factions, battlefield items, events and a whole lot more.

The first of the two new factions is called the Prag Mah, a group that consists of imperial judges and executioners. They certainly sound like a ruthless bunch. The second is the Phalanx, with ranks including deadly mercenary warriors. Again, not a group I'd want to trifle with. Both of these factions will enjoy two special officers each.

But, as mentioned, the new update doesn't just introduce these two factions. There are also twelve new battlefield items across different categories, including weapons, units, and auxiliary systems. Beyond that, you can tackle 30 events, each related in some fashion to the Prag Mah and the Phalanx.

As you might expect, given the influx of content, there are new achievements to unlock alongside the usual quality-of-life tweaks updates tend to bring. Last Orders is live now, and your game should update automatically without affecting your current save file.

If you're unfamiliar with Crying Suns, it's a sci-fi tactical rogue-lite that the developers have described as FTL meets Dune. It puts you in the shoes of a space commander exploring a fallen empire in a procedurally generated universe. That means with each new run you might learn something new about the history.

It's a cracking game and easy to recommend if you enjoy putting your tactical nous to the test. If one opinion doesn't suffice, our App Army community also played it and shared their opinions.

Crying Suns is available now on the App Store and Google Play. You can buy it for your preferred platform using the links below. It is a premium game that costs $5.99 at the time of writing.
