Indie studio Chasing Carrots has announced that it's bringing its quirky space trading sim Cosmonautica to iOS and Android at the end of June.

It deserves at least a little hurrah for a few reasons: 1) it looks like it might actually be funny, 2) the claim of "console quality" graphics isn't too ludicrous, and 3) there appears to be a weird looking fly-man.

To explain it more fully: Cosmonautica is a space trading sim, primarily. This means you have to acquire goods (rare and illegal) and then sell them off to space merchants.

To this end, you have to recruit a ragtag crew of weirdos for your ship. You can also customise your ship so you can make all the other spaceship captains jealous.

And yes, there are space battles as well, as you'll run into space pirates that want to get their grubby hands on your goods.

Also worth noting is that Cosmonautica is to be a cross-platform game. Not only across iOS and Android, but also with PC, too.

An early access version of Cosmonautica is already available on Google Play for £3.99 / $4.99. Grab it if you wish. Otherwise wait like the iOS players for another month.
