Supercell has detailed big changes heading to its enormously popular multiplayer strategy game Clash of Clans that will upset the multiplayer leaderboards.

Writing in its forum, Supercell announced that this update will bring a new Legend League at 5000 Trophies a well as a monthly Legend League Tournament in the Top Players list.

Supercell said that it's also looking to address some of the most longstanding complaints about the Clash of Clans multiplayer experience with this update.

These complaints include long matchmaking search times, lopsided Trophy offers (such as +1 Trophy win / -39 Trophy loss), and low mobility in the Trophy ladder.

According to Supercell, the root of these problems is that there aren't enough players at the top of the leaderboards.

And so, the new monthly Legend League Tournament (accessible to those with 5,000 Trophies or more) is a way of pushing more competitors together.

At the end of every month, every Legend League Tournament competitor's trophies will be reset to 5,000. This gives everyone a fresh start and a chance to reach the #1 spot.

But these Trophies don't just vanish. The ones that are removed to get you back down to 5,000 get converted into permanent Legend Trophies.

Supercell considers this its first step towards improving the high-level competition in Clash of Clans, and is looking to continue iterating on this.
