The next game from Clash of Clans creator Supercell will be Clash Royale: a multiplayer battle game where two people go head to head, in real-time.

Like the world's most lightweight MOBA, the game's all about sending units down lanes to take out your opponent's towers and topple their king.

At the same time, you'll have to defend your own monarchy using spells, defences, and troops.

Royale Flush

Clash Royale also has an extensive card collection element, where you build a Battle Deck to take into the fight. You can also form a Clan and share cards with other members.

The game features lots of new characters - including the Princes, Knights, and Baby Dragons of the titular Royales - but plenty of familiar faces from the world of Clash.

Clash Royale

The game's out now in soft launch on iOS in New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland. A global launch, and an Android version, is coming soon.

Or, at least we hope it is - two of Supercell's previous soft-launched games - Spooky Pop and Smash Land - never saw the light of day as they were "proving difficult to reach the high standards set by our other games".

As for Clash Royale, if you want more on the game, fan channel PlayClashOfClans has a hands-on video and an interview with the game's team.
