According to Hicham Allaoui, the evolution of the platform genre goes from Mario to Super Meat Boy.

It's a reasonable argument, and one he's backing up with his forthcoming iOS and Android game CheeseMan.

With three themes and 45 levels, it has you taking control of the eponymous hero, avoiding traps, spikes, and circular saws, while jump around, turning on switches and transforming into a giant CheeseMan, as you attempt to save CheeseLand from the evil Professor Mousky.

On toast

Allaoui is no bedroom coder either, having previously worked professionally on DStitles such as Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Raving Rabbids Travel in Time .

You can even buy official CheeseMan t-shirts.

CheeseMan is out now for iPhone, priced 99c. It's also expected for Android at some point too.
