King soft-launches Candy Crush Saga spin-off Candy Crush Soda Saga on Android

King has just soft-launched the free-to-play game Candy Crush Soda Saga on Google Play in Canada, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands.

Yep, you guessed it: Candy Crush Soda Saga is the sequel to the enormously popular Candy Crush Saga. You don't win anything for guessing that.

You might earn yourself a reward if you successfully predict how long it will be before King trademarks the word 'soda', mind (only joking).

Anyway, Soda Saga boasts more of the same match-three gameplay with which fans of the first game will be very familiar. So, you match candies across 75 levels to make your way through a soda-soaked world.

One of the big additions here, though, is the purple soda that can be seen in the background of the screenshots that makes the candies in the grid float up instead of fall down.

That's what we in the business call innovation.

If that doesn't sound enticing enough, then feel free to read Isaac Trumbo's user review for Candy Crush Soda Saga over on the Google Play Store.

In his customer review, Trumbo says that Candy Crush Soda Saga is an "amazing sequel". To be fair, he should know - he is a King employee, after all (yeah, oops).

Candy Crush Soda Saga will be available on Android globally later in the year. It will presumably also be available on iOS after that.
