Candy Crush Saga teams up with Sonic and Tails for a special in-game event

Paramount Studios and King have announced an exciting collaboration event for Candy Crush Saga, bringing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 into the casual match-3 game. Beginning March 31st, players can expect to go on a treasure hunt with Sonic and Tails in an entirely different way, as blue candies from the game have now been replaced with Sonic-themed boosters, with the lovely music from the movie hyping up players even more in the background.

In the Candy Crush Saga x Sonic the Hedgehog 2 collaboration event, players will team up with Sonic and Tails to retrieve the master emerald from Dr. Robotnik until April 4th. They'll help fuel Sonic's energy, collect Sonic Spin Dash Candies, as well as unlock delectable treats and boosters.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is about teamwork, exciting adventures (to save the world!) and having fun. We are happy to partner with Candy Crush Saga, tapping into King’s game experience, and loving and engaged fanbase,” says Irene Trachtenberg, SVP of Global Partnerships at Paramount Pictures. “It’s rewarding to pair these two iconic franchises for a unique experience that Sonic fans and Candy Crush Saga players alike can be surprised and delighted with ahead of the film's release.”

Partnering with Paramount on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 presented an incredible opportunity for the King team,” says Jennifer Sharp, Vice President of Mobile Partnerships at Activision Blizzard King. “Sonic is a beloved character worldwide and one that fits seamlessly within the narrative of our game. We expect the Sonic and Candy Crush audiences will be drawn to the exciting new world we have created together. It's important for us to continue to innovate and bring fresh, new experiences to Candy Crush players, and Paramount was a great partner in this process."

If you're eager to join in on all the festivities, you can download Candy Crush Saga on the Google Play Store for Android devices or on the iOS App Store. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
