If you ever wondered "what happened to Candy Crush Saga?", your answer is right here - there's a new version of the game coming on October 11th, and it's called Candy Crush Friends Saga.
For the first time ever, the game will have full 3D character models, though it'll all still be in keeping with the saccharine sweet art style that has been the series staple since the beginning.
You can also expect different characters appearing for each level, offering up a different ability which can be used to help turn the tides in your favour.
To me, it sounds like a great step forwards for Candy Crush. The original is still a stone cold classic (and makes the money each month to prove it), but these new additions sound like they'll encourage even a hardened cynic like me to come back for another go.
So get some space cleared on your mobile device in preparation - Candy Crush Friends Saga is hitting Android and iOS on October 11th. Sweet!
