For most of us, arranging colour swatches is something we do to kill time while searching for a perfect shade of paint for our living room accent wall.

But to Lonely Few, it's the basis for a new mobile puzzle game called Blendoku.

Combining elements of Sudoku with high-level colour theory, the end result is something like a colour crossword puzzle.

In each level of Blendoku, you'll face the deceptively difficult task of comparing and arranging coloured tiles to form a correct colour spectrum.

Singing in the rainbow

This style of gameplay makes Blendoku educational as well as fun, as it will impart an understanding of advanced colour comprehension while simultaneously appealing to puzzle game perfectionists.

If this sounds like the sort of game you'd like to try, the good news is that Blendoku is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Better still, the free version offers 475 puzzle levels to solve with more available via in-app purchases.

And who knows - after a few levels, you might finally find that perfect shade for your accent wall.
