City-builder meets clicker in Nimblebit's addicting Bit City, out in early access on Android

Nimblebit are no strangers to building games. They are behind the quite successful Tiny Tower, a game that didn't feature much gameplay but was still addicting as heck.

After some time without any new games, Nimblebit is coming back with Bit City, a Sim-City style builder that happens to be launched in the early access program of Google Play.

After some time with this build, I've been able to get a good feeling of how the game plays. It starts off by letting you build districts and buildings in your city and, akin to Sim-City, it features Residential, Business and Service districts.

Once built, the building manages itself and gains levels. You'll need to push the build button to upgrade your buildings. You can also buy cars that will roam your city, offering both coins (in game money) and Bucks (premium money).

You gain coins automatically every second based on the buildings and cars that you currently have. This is where the clicker part of the game starts to appear. Indeed, you then boost your city's income with a wide variety of ever pricier upgrades until you reach the different goals.

Surprisingly, once you've reached the goals, you don't unlock a new part of the same city but rather start from scratch in another town, just like you would in a campaign mode of a premium city-builder.

This loop turns out to be quite addicting and is kinda hard to resist despite knowing the limited gameplay loop.

Bit City is out now in early access on Android and should be out in March on iOS.
