Best new iOS and Android games of the week: May 14
|

It can be hard work keeping track of all the worthwhile new games released onto the App Store and Google Play Store each week.

That's why, at the end of every week, we like to bring you a succinct round-up of the best efforts. All part of the service.

Have you been playing anything different this week? Let us know in the comments below.

To the Moon
By X.D. Network - buy on iOS / buy on Android

To the Moon has been charming indie game fans since 2011, and now it's here to do the same for mobile gamers. It's a retro-style RPG with a uniquely touching story.

Miles & Kilo
By Michael Burns - buy on iOS

Miles and Kilo is a classy follow-up to App Store classic Kid Tripp. It's an auto-runner, but with a style and tight design that evokes the platforming greats.

Run-A-Whale
By Guillaume Loquin - download on iOS

A pun-tastic name, echoes of Tiny Wings and Alto's Adventure, and a beautiful art style. It's difficult to not like this charming endless runner, really.

Built for Speed
By Meizi Games - download on iOS / download on Android

A really entertaining little top-down racer, I particularly like Built for Speed's drifty handling and emphasis on taking a smooth racing line. There's also a track building facility, if that's your thing.

Steredenn
By Pixelnest Studio - buy on iOS

A fine 2D shmup with ace pixel-art graphics, Steredenn really stands out for its roguelike slant, which adds a welcome dose of depth and variety.

Jon Mundy
Jon Mundy
Jon is a consummate expert in adventure, action, and sports games. Which is just as well, as in real life he's timid, lazy, and unfit. It's amazing how these things even themselves out.
