Time was you could barely walk down a suspiciously narrow street without being bombarded from either side by competing tower defence games.
The assault has let up a little in recent times, so Beast Towers isn't quite as forgettable as it might once have been - despite being a fairly generic example.
This is tower defence of the old Fieldrunners variety, so the onus is on you to form the lanes for waves of enemies to traipse through.
There's a nice twist in that you're on the side of the monsters against the humans, and we like that you can set how each individual tower prioritises its targets.
But the units themselves are a little vague and wishy-washy, and the controls frustratingly unresponsive at times.
Beast Towers is a solidly constructed tower defence game, but nothing more.
