| Battleborn Tap

Battleborn is a mash-up of a multiplayer FPS and a MOBA. Battleborn Tap isn't. It's a clicker with the Battleborn license layered over it like cheese over an undercooked burger.

Yes, you can unlock content for the main game via the medium of mashing your fingers into the screen until they're sore and bloody, and yes it's a little deeper than your average clicker.

But it's still a clicker. It's essentially a game you can play without looking at it. In fact it's a game you can play without playing it at all. But if that's your sort of thing, well, there's quite a lot to like here.

Tap the screen, get points?

Exactly. You tap the screen and you get points. You've also got a team of characters from Battleborn who stand on one side of a battlefield and fire their guns. On the other side there are some monsters with health bars.

Kill the monsters, get gold, upgrade your Battleborn and the lasers you fire every time you rap a digit on the screen. Or save up and make your squad bigger. The choice is yours, although you can pretty much do everything if you're willing to tap forever.

Alternatively you can just put your iOS device down and go and do something else. Even if the app isn't open, it calculates how much you would have earned had you been playing. I got 5 million coins while I slept.

There are a few additions here though. Each of your characters has its own special move that does a huge amount of damage. They're on cooldowns though, so you need to use them wisely. There are boss battles, and your team will take a beating if you're not careful.

Occasionally spaceships fly over the field, and tapping them gets you a boost. There are other things to tap as well, and videos you can watch to get a boost to your coffers.

But in the end you're still just tapping the screen. The game looks nice, but most of the time your hand will be obscuring all of it anyway. Or you won't be looking at the screen, because, well, you don't have to.

So not much to recommend?

Well, if you're playing Battleborn you can get extra content from Battleborn Tap. But if you're not, it's hard to think of a reason to play this. Unless you're a real fan of clickers with science fiction themes.

There's nothing wrong with it per se, and it's nice to see a mobile game that ties in with a triple-A title in a tangible way. And like I say, if you're into Battleborn then it's well worth having a crack.

If you're not though, then there are other clickers that have more interesting twists that you should probably have a crack at before you come to this one.

Battleborn Tap is a game about tapping and getting stuff in Battleborn. So do that if you'd like, I guess
